Thank you for your support!

The St-Albert Cheese Co-operative, members and employees included, would like to extend a great big thank you to the thousands of visitors who stopped by to take a peek at the new factory over the weekend.

On Saturday and Sunday, the cheese factory shop was swarmed by people determined to be among the first to taste and buy the new locally produced curd. So much so that by 4 p.m. Sunday, the shop was sold out of curd, and had to draw from the next produced batch to meet the demand. “We barely had time to restock the shelves before the curd disappeared again!” related Secretary-Treasurer Stephan Schwab.

In the new factory’s lobby, people were able to watch videos of the reports produced by Radio-Canada about the cheese factory and the fire. The crowds filled the second floor visitors’ corridor, which overlooks the new facilities and cheese production area.

Outside, visitors left their imprint on the temporary facade of the new factory. This souvenir mural was made up of “truly touching messages in every language, and far too numerous to count” indicated St-Albert Cheese Co-operative Executive Director Éric Lafontaine.

The siding will be put up in the next few days, but you can rest easy because our photographer captured all of the frames, and your messages will be forever engraved in our hearts.

Thank you all for your support. We worked very hard in order to be able to welcome you this weekend and offer you locally produced curd, and your enthusiasm touched us deeply. Now, it’s time to roll up our sleeves and finish the work on the new shop and the future restaurant. We can’t wait to show off the finished product!
