Merchandiser – Gatineau Area – RF0025

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of business development, the merchandiser will drive volume and increase visibility of products in assigned accounts and support sales teams in merchandising activities. He is maintaining current customers.

 Main Tasks

  • Lead merchandising efforts in customer for all products, general distribution and promotions/programs.
  • Develop effective business relationships with assigned customers Provide management with specific and current information on competitive activity, market challenges and merchandising opportunities.
  • Execute sales driver objectives
  • Service and improve the marketability of our products through shelf management, display position and frequency, concept selling and price point management
  • Pack out shelves, build and refresh displays, place POS and stock deli counters.
  • Obtain feedback from accounts on effectiveness of consumer programming and report trends to management
  • Design and build creative displays to showcase brands
  • Coordinate timing of merchandising activities with regional sales manager and communicate merchandising tactics to customer
  • Continual development of industry, channel, and brand knowledge
  • Collect orders as needed from retail accounts.
  • Other related tasks requested by the Director of business development

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in retail, or similar experience
  • Undergraduate degree in business, marketing, or other relevant discipline or equivalent experience (asset)
  • Demonstrate and exhibit high levels of professionalism
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of dairy industry, market trends and competition
  • Proficient MS Office skills
  • Ability to work on weekends when required occasionally.
  • Ability to attend tradeshows.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to vehicle.

  • Planning and organizational skills : planning and organizing a task from start to finish, keeping the focus on the objectives and results, Perform job duties in an accurate, proficient and timely manner
  • Bilingual : French and English, spoken and written
