Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director genetal, the Controller has the mandate to ensure a sound management of the accounting and financial operations for St-Albert Cheese. He is responsible for financial forecasting, internal control. The controller is in charge of maintaining a control on finances and precision and integrity for all accounting. He must also process and analyze information regarding the business keeping in mind possibilities for improvement.

Main Tasks

  • Manage and supervise Accouting and IT team
  • Prepare, produce and analyze reliable monthly financial statements within the required timeframe
  • Ensure adequate communication of financial information internally and exernally, as needed
  • Enfore accounting rules and policies and see the implementation of internal control system in a effective and on going basis
  • Enhance and conduct a close financial control and an optimal cash flow management
  • Oversee the implementation and follow-up with all inventory count processes and assets management
  • Prepare financial forecasts as well as perform the analysis and interpretation of the financial statements for the strategic planning process, and for performance review
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the financial information system and of the month-end and year-end process
  • Participate in improving the company’s profitability
  • Participate in negotiations with major suppliers
  • Participate in improving the company’s profitability
  • Establishment of different selling prices and gross margins
  • Review and analyse the profitability of various investment projects
  • Other related tasks requested by the Director general

 

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Minimum of five years experience in a similar position
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or other relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing company and cost accounting
  • Posses an accounting designation (an asset)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and abilities with IT
