Senior Accountant – Full Time – St-Albert, ON – 2024-0007

Under the responsibility of the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for carrying out all the basic accounting operations necessary to produce internal monthly financial statements. In addition, he/she will carry out end-of-month entries and operations and analyze and explain discrepancies as well as support the Financial Controller in specific mandates. The Senior Accountant is responsible for executing the payroll function as well as supervising the receivables and payable functions.

YOUR CHALLENGES: 

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and analyze/explain preliminary results and variances.
  • Prepare month-end entries.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, bank accounts and government remittances.
  • Carry out data entry, carry out checks and controls, and carry out various accounting analyses according to the needs of the Cheese Factory.
  • Supervise accounts receivable and payable.
  • Carry out all operations concerning the payroll of all employees.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Human Resources, ensure the daily management of the group insurance program and other social benefits.
  • Carry out accounting for fixed assets and depreciation.
  • Carry out inventory reconciliations and cost accounting.
  • Participate in cash management and financial control.
  • Assist in the preparation of the audit file and facilitate the work of external auditors.
  • Perform any related tasks requested by the immediate supervisor.

WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • Minimum experience of five years in a similar position. Experience in the manufacturing field is an asset.
  • Undergraduate university degree in finance, accounting or other appropriate discipline or any other equivalent experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and computer skills.

Status: permanent, full time

Work Schedule: weekdays (the schedule may change according to operational needs)

Salary: depending on experience
