Production Supervisor – 2018-0009

ROLE AND RESPONSABILITIES

Reporting directly to the Production manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of all production team members involve in cheese production. He acts as a leader and change agent in order to ensure efficiency and quality product. Working closely to make sure all activities are done safely and respect all food safety, quality standards while maintaining a good working environment.

MAIN TASKS 

  • Manage and coordinate all activities related to transformation, manufacturing, washing and sanitation of equipment;
  • Coordinate and plan workforce and operations to meet requests from internal and external customers;
  • Manage and engage his team members and ensure that the work is done at all times safely;
  • Make sure the cheese produces is high quality and meets all quality and safety standards , with the support of the quality department, the master cheese maker, production and operations managers;
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement our processes and work methods;
  • Coach, support and assist team members in problem solving;
  • Identify training needs and assist in developing the competencies of its team members;
  • Perform employee performance reviews on a regular basis;
  • Ensure regular monitoring of activities and results;
  • Respect and enforce all rules and all OH & S policies and procedures of the cheese factory;
  • Perform other work related task as assigned.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Undergraduate degree in industrial engineering, automated production engineering, food engineering or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience;
  • Degree in dairy specialization (asset);
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar position (manufacturing environment);
  • Relevant experience in cheese making;
  • Experience and training in continuous improvement (asset);
  • Available to work on evening and week-end;
  • Be able to lift weights that may exceed 20 Kg;
  • Has a sense of responsibility and autonomy;
  • Is versatile, flexible and reliable;
  • Bilingual (asset).

Status : Full time 

Work Schedule: Evening with weekends rotation.
