Quality Assurance Coordinator (full time) – 2018-0026

ROLE AND RESPONSABILITIES 

Under the responsibility of the Director Assurance Quality, the Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for providing support to implement and maintain a culture and system of total quality. He must work particularly with all stakeholders in the organization to ensure safe and high-quality cheese production that meets stringent standards. 

MAIN TASKS 

  • Work closely with the Director Assurance Quality, the Master Cheesemaker, the Production Director, as well as the various stakeholders to maintain a product that is safe, of high quality and meets the customer’s requirements;
  • Collaborate with the Director Assurance Quality to develop, implement and maintain quality procedures to obtain and maintain the necessary certifications (CFIA, HACCP, SQF, etc.);
  • Collaborate with the Director Assurance Quality to implement a culture of total quality within the company;
  • Coordinate all laboratory activities including equipment, supplies, daily follow-up of laboratory results, make the necessary corrections if necessary and distribute the information to the production;
  • Participate in the continuous improvement process in collaboration with the production and quality assurance team and open quality incidents and corrective and preventive action requests as needed;
  • Ensure that the documentation is up-to-date and is followed;
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Supervisor in the management of quality complaints to determine causes and find solutions;
  • Monitor and enforce applicable regulations specific to the cheese industry sector (production, packaging, labeling, cleaning, sanitation, weight and measurement);
  • Track inventory and order laboratory supplies and cleaning and sanitation;
  • Order laboratory supplies and cleaning and sanitation;
  • Ensure the proper functioning of laboratory equipment; calibration, precision and repeatability;
  • Participate in various CFIA audits and inspections;
  • Collaborate with the Director Assurance Quality to develop, implement an internal audit program
  • Any other related tasks requested by the Quality Assurance Supervisor or Director. 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Completion of an Undergraduate degree in Food Science and Technology, Biology, Chemistry or other appropriate discipline or a combination of training and work experience considered equivalent;
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in a similar position;
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and best practices to date;
  • Knowledge of Laboratory techniques;
  • Leadership;

Status: Full Time

Work Schedule: Afternoon, Evening *
